A little About Me

I was born in Cwmdare, a small village in the Cynon Valley, South Wales.

Wales

Where I went to Aberdare Boys Comprehensive, Aberdare College and eventually Pontypridd Technical College.

After college I trained to become an Accountant, really bad mistake as it was not my thing. During this time though I did work for both the Welsh Rugby Union and the Cardiff Rugby Union as a steward. A time that meant I got to see U2, Bryan Adams, Simple Minds and many other great bands. I have been a fan of rugby and Cardiff Rugby Club since I was a very young lad so this was hardly a job, more like being paid to do something I enjoy. Also during this time I was involved with the local Opera Dramatic company doing shows such as:

  • Oklahoma
  • Showboat
  • GentleMen Prefer Blondes
  • Camelot

Off to Uni

Eventually in 1993 I realised that accountancy was definately not for me and that is when I headed to The University of the West of England in Bristol to study a BSC in Computing. This was not a major surprise and I bought my first computer (a ZX81) in 1981 and have always had a love of computers. After University I worked for a telecoms company called Solar Commnunications in Bristol. However after a couple of years the company made me redundant and my life of travelling began. I was luck enough to spend the next 3 years in Switzerland, where I learn to ski, learn my trade of software development and had a fantastic time. After my time in Switzerland I had a short period in Edinburgh followed by 2 years in Dublin, both great cities and some where I will have to return to soon. After Dublin I moved back to Cardiff for the next 5 years, I know I am biased but I still love Cardiff it is an amazing city. For the last 7 years I have lived in London, one of my favourite cities ever. The night life here is amazing and I have seen most of the band that I have always wanted to see.
